Deep Sea Fishing on the South Coast

At first light your adrenalin starts pumping and the sound of the ski boat motors being warmed up signals the start of a very unforgettable experience. The skipper tells you to hold tight as he takes you through the surf, once you are on backline you know that your trip out to sea is just about to get better. Seven and a half kms out and the game is on. You are now on Protea Bank - world famous for game fishing and diving. A scream of a reel and the fight has just begun, first you must fight the fish then get it passed the number of sharks waiting for their share of the haul…

The skipper will help you and guide you along the way as to ensure the fish is landed safely and put in the hatch. The different seasons brings in different game fish, among them the yellow fin tuna, barracuda, big king fish, dorado, sailfish and that elusive Marlin. Off the reef the experienced skippers will put you onto a variety of bottom fish, remember it is a gentleman’s agreement that no one bottom fishes on the bank. All tackle and bait is supplied so bring along yourself and a camera to snap that fish that you tag and release for good memories and back in the pub it will not be just another fisher mans tale…
